Officials confirm latest British patients are ‘closely linked’

The number of British cases of coronavirus has doubled to eight – with two healthcare workers among those testing

positive – as a GP surgery was

closed yesterday amid fears of the infection spreading. County Oak medical centre in Brighton had a warning notice on its door telling patients it was “closed due to operational difficulties”. Workers in protective suits were seen 

cleaning the surgery. Public

Health England confirmed that the cases were “closely linked” as efforts were made to trace others who may have been exposed, with five of them related to the so-called “super spreader” – a businessman who caught the virus on a trip to Singapore.
