Where Brexit and Britain go from here
Theresa May told Tory MPs last night that she would step aside as prime minister after she has delivered Brexit. At a
closed meeting, Ms May told backbenchers that she would quit before the next stage of
EU negotiations as long as Conservatives who have failed to back her deal fall in line. However, the Democratic Unionist Party suggested last
night that its MPs should not vote for the PM’s Brexit deal. And in a demonstration of just how deadlocked parliament is, MPs failed to find a majority for any Brexit plan despite voting on eight different indicative options.
